MIL-C-5015 SERIES I SOLDER OR CRIMP (F80) CONTACTS - This Military Specification covers multipin cylindrical connectors and is one of the most widely used for various applications. There are 19 shell sizes, 8 shell configurations, and over 130 insert arrangements containing contact sizes 18, 16, 12, 8, 4, 1/0 and 4/0. MIL-C-5015 has surely stood the test-of-time, having been first used in 1939. Through the years, these connectors have been upgraded with the use of state-of-the-art materials and finishes. The insert arrangements are so versatile that they are used in other series of connectors that use different shells and hardware. Originally, only solder contacts were available. Today, in addition to solder, these connectors are available with crimp contacts, both front and rear release. The coupling method is by use of an UNF type thread. Other coupling methods, reverse bayonet and double start threads are available. MIL-C-5015 CONTACTS & TOOLS - We can can supply connectors with: Plugs with a self-locking coupling nut, which eliminates the need for safety wire. A low-cost coupling mechanism is available for all series.
